Do you listen to Teacher Talk Radio? Do they run adverts? Do they play music? I guess I’ll never know.
I’ve been aware of this initiative for some time. I was even asked by a host to appear on a show a few months back but we couldn’t make it work with the time difference. I imagine it’s like a continuous series of podcasts.
A couple of people with badger emojis in their Twitter handles decided that one of the hosts, James Furey, had incorrect views. Badger emojis are the MAGA hats of British education-related Twitter accounts — they give you a sense of where a person is coming from before you interact with them.
Rather than tell these self-appointed censors to do one, it appears that the folks at Teacher Talk Radio got scared and asked Furey to sign* a Diversity and Inclusion Statement. Furey declined.

Teacher Talk Radio — approved views only.
Update - More from Furey:

*Furey received an email where he was asked to read the statement and let the folks at Teacher Talk Radio know that he agreed to adhere to it — so, not technically a signature but amounting to the same thing.
