What’s your focus?
Regular readers of this Substack — particularly those who have been with me through the Wordpress years — would probably have the impression that my prescription for turning around a mediocre school would involve a focus on explicit teaching and a knowledge-rich curriculum. However, if starting from scratch, school culture is what we need to focus on first.
What differentiates a damaging school culture from a good one? And how can we change from the first to the second?
